Making sure that your stairs are safe to walk up and down is important for the safety of you and your family, especially so if there are young children or old ones living in the home.
One common issue with stairs is when there is a carpet covering. Carpet that is loose, ripped, or damaged can become a major trip hazard. If you can’t ensure that it is properly attached, it is better to remove the carpet completely.
Your railings should also be in good repair. If they aren’t firmly attached to the wall, they could rip out when someone puts weight on them to hold themselves upright.
