Smoke detectors save lives. There is no better way for a homeowner to protect themselves and their families than installing smoke detectors. These devices aren’t expensive, and they are very easy to install. So why do people still get hurt and die in fires? One reason is that many are lax with replacing batteries in their smoke detectors. It is a lot easier to take the battery out to stop your smoke detector from beeping than it is to replace its batteries. Some might have smoke detectors installed, but not enough, or not in the right locations.
You should have a smoke detector outside every bedroom in the home, as well as, on every floor of your home. If there are any flammable chemicals or gasses that you keep in your home, there should be a smoke detector there as well. While it might seem like you will end up with a lot of smoke detectors in your home to cover all bases, you will be happy if the worst were to happen.
