Have you ever wanted to get access to your sewage line? For most homeowners, the answer to that question would be no. No one wants to think about their waste product once it is flushed down the toilet, but if you have experienced sewage backing up, then you probably realize how important it is to be able to access the sewage line to be able to fix whatever is going on. Of course, this is a job best left to a plumber, but sometimes the quickest way to get something done is to take care of it ourselves.

There should be access to sewer cleanout near the point where the sewage leaves your home. This will be either inside the home or outside depending on the climate where you live, and usually near a downstairs bathroom.

Once the access pipe has been opened up, you should be able to get a snake into the sewage line and clean out whatever it may be that is blocking the flow.
